Alternative Arrangements for Assessment Policy

Guidelines outlining the Alternative Arrangements for Assessment are available from the Disability Liaison Office web page.

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that students with disabilities have equal opportunity in all types of assessment.

Scope

This policy applies to assessments for coursework units and or degrees.

Rationale

Alternative Arrangements for Assessment are provided because they are an efficient and equitable way of minimising the impact of a student's disability on performance in assessment and of allowing students with disabilities to compete on an even footing with other students.

Review Schedule

This policy will be considered for review by Academic Board, three years after approval or earlier if required.

Change to "Responsibilities for Implementation" made by Education Committee Meeting 6/2005, 26 October 2005.
