Deferment ProceduresParent PolicyDefinition of termsCensus date: The date on which a student's enrolment is taken to be finalised. HECS-HELP and FEE-HELP debts are incurred and SLE is consumed on census dates. Students must make their up-front payments and submit their request/s for Commonwealth assistance by the census date. ProceduresA deferment application must be submitted to defer an offer to commence a course. Applications must be made to the managing faculty, preferably before the specified enrolment date, but at the latest, prior to the census date of the initial semester. Applications for deferment can be completed either on the deferment application form (pdf 75kb) or online via the Web Enrolment System.
